Susan Jean Mayer considers Gert Biesta’s most recent book, The Beautiful Risk of Education (2014), in which Biesta draws upon post-war Continental philosophy in support of his call for the thoughtful nurture of subjectification processes within schools. Mayer takes up questions regarding the relationship between the philosophical resources Biesta provides and all three of the dimensions of pedagogical purpose Biesta first framed in his previous book and cites again here.Downloads
