Abstract

This article illustrates the value of caring for Indigenous knowledge in an academiclibrary from an Indigenous perspective. Responsibilities for this take many formssuch as teaching information literacy skills in researching Indigenous knowledgewith a cultural component, collection development activities that honor communityprotocols regarding access to Indigenous knowledge, explaining the need forcategorizing Indigenous knowledge in culturally relevant ways, and publishingarticles that reflect the library stewardship of Indigenous knowledge from anIndigenous perspective.
