Abstract

For many of those who work in academia there is a strong appeal to engage inpartnership work with communities. However, the demands and challenges of theuniversity are different than the demands and challenges facing communities, andforging effective university-community partnerships is difficult work. This articleexplores the use of the "borderland" in a university environment to reach out andacross to communities more effectively.
