Abstract

In 1985 Canadian Literature issue 106 was devoted to Italian-Canadian connections. This short opinion paper reviews developments in Italian-Canadian writing over the past 30 years. The main argument is that Italian-Canadian writers have strongly promoted ethnic minority writing so that it is now seen as an integral part of Canadian Literature. The articles uses examples from South- Asian writers in Toronto, Asian writers in Vancouver as well as Arab women writers and African-Canadian authors.
