These poems are structured by an attempt to create an overall sense of lyric affect while employing anti-lyric strategies. These strategies include using different poetics within the same short piece; foregrounding of theoretical and historical concerns; foregrounding of the artificiality of lyric conventions, especially concerning the coherence of the speaker. In sum, the goal is demonstrate that it is possible to deploy affective material without recourse to personal voice.Published
