Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Research must be done at UBC or have a direct connection with UBC
  • The student must have completed the work for the paper as an undergraduate student
  • Unpublished, original research, and analytical theses, written in English independently or for a class at UBC
  • The research must have been completed in 2021 or later in order to be eligible for submission
  • The submission cannot be undergoing review in another journal
  • The submission cannot already be published elsewhere
  • The main content of the paper must be related to psychological research but the topic can be approached from different disciplines
  • Must be the main author of the work and have permission from others involved in the work for submission
  • The paper must follow the most current version of APA
  • Each student can submit a maximum of 2 papers each submission cycle
  • If accepted, in each round of review, authors must be prepared to revise requested edits and meet all deadlines

  • Please see the following rules for the submission of all sections of your manuscript (i.e. Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, References).
    • Abstract has a maximum of 200 words.
    • Up to 5 keywords may be included on the abstract page.
    • The body of the manuscript (introduction, methods, results, discussion) has a minimum of 1000 words and a maximum of 5000 words.
    • Up to 5 figures/tables/images can be included in your manuscript. Please ensure that your figures/tables/images have appropriate captions.
    • The manuscript must follow the APA 7th edition.
    • Please ensure this attachment is completely de-identified. Do not include any author names, affiliations, or contact information in the attachment. Failure to do so will result in significant delays in the editorial process.
    • Please do not include the title page in your attatchment

Author Guidelines

Please attach the file of your manuscript. The attachment MUST be a Word (.docx) file for reviewing and editing purposes. Attachments not in the .docx file will result in significant delays in the editorial process.
