Submissions

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The submission file is in the appropriate format.
- Peer Reviewed submissions: .doc file
- Posters: PDF format
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
All images included in the submission have been properly attributed and may be reproduced.
The Copyright notice below has been read and understood and the author(s) agree to the terms.

Author Guidelines

See Also invites current and former students at UBC's School of Library, Archival and Information Studies to submit papers, posters, and other scholarly work that was created during their time in the Masters of Library and Information Studies (MLIS), Masters of Archival Studies (MAS), or Masters of Children's Literature (MACL) programs.

Submissions should be primarily concerned with the study of libraries, archives, information, or children's literature. At this time See Also is not interested in publishing fiction.

The onus is on the author to notify us if their work is accepted by another journal.

The author is responsible for ensuring that all images included in submissions have been properly attributed and may be reproduced.

Structure of Submissions

Articles and posters submitted to See Also need to include the following:

Title
Author bio
Affiliation (including degree)
Key words
Abstract
Acknowledgements (if applicable)
References / further reading

Articles or posters failing to include all of these criteria will be returned to the author with a list of suggested revisions.

Author Bios

Submissions should include a brief bio for each author.

Abstracts

For each article or poster the author should include a brief 100-150 word abstract.

Citations/References

See Also uses APA and MLA styles. Please ensure your citations and references are in one of these forms prior to submission.

Layout

Article submissions should be single spaced with a blank line between paragraphs.

Blind Review

Please ensure you have read and follwed the instructions for Blind Review.
