Laurel Ryan is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Her research interests include transatlantic and transnational literary relationships, with a particular focus on Canadian literary history and historiography. She is also interested in the ways in which national narratives can be linked not to the land but to cultural memory.
