In 2017, Sara completed the Creative Writing diploma program at the University of British Columbia. Originally from Labrador, she was an artillery officer in the Canadian Forces before retiring in 2011 to be at home with her three children and to write.
Sara's short fiction placed in the 2017 Canadian Author Spotlight writing contest and was published in the anthology Canadian Shorts. Her work has been long-listed for the Gover Story Prize and The Pulp Literature Flash Fiction Contest. She received an Honourable Mention for The New Quarterly’s Peter Hinchcliffe Fiction Award and will be published in their Spring 2018 issue. In December, Sara was selected to participate in ARC Poetry Magazine’s 2018 mentorship program with David O’Meara.
Currently Sara is working on a collection of short stories and a book of poems.
