Abstract

I have reviewed two Inuit young adult novels because I feel it is important that our literary canon in Canada include and embrace Indigenous literature. In particular, I would like to see books like Those Who Run in the Sky and Why the Monster being studied in secondary school classrooms throughout British Columbia.

I am finishing my Master's Degree in English from Simon Fraser University in April. I teach secondary English in Surrey. I write fiction in my spare time.
