Renee Sarojini Saklikar, Simon Fraser University/Poet Laureate of Surrey

Renée Sarojini Saklikar writes thecanadaproject, a life-long poem-chronicle. Work from the project appears in literary journals, chapbooks, and anthologies, in poems, essays and short stories, including, The Literary Review of Canada, Geist, The Vancouver Review, The Georgia Straight, The Rusty Toque, DUSIE, The Capilano Review. The book length sequence, Children of Air India: un/authorized exhibits and interjections appeared in 2013 (Nightwood Editions).  Excerpts from the long poem, Thot-J-Bap, appear in issue twelve of Trip Wire, and in chapbooks from above/ground press and Nous Zot Press.  Renée is the first Poet Laureate of the City of Surrey. She collects poems about bees.
