Maude Lapierre holds a PhD from the Université de Montréal, where she completed her SSHRC-funded dissertation entitled "The Hybridity of Violence: Location, Dislocation, and Relocation in Contemporary Canadian Indigenous and Multicultural Writing" in 2013. ACQL-ALCQ awarded her the Barbara Godard prize in 2009, and an honourable mention in 2011.
