Abstract

Thomas King's "The Back of the Turtle" is about stories within stories.  Some are of First Nations origin, some are from Christianity and others are from a shared history or popular culture.  I look at  King's juxtaposition of creative and destructive forces in the novel and his resolution of these as a story of creation and recreation.
