Abstract

Medical channels, created by young physicians on YouTube, are a popular source of medical information. They may help demystify the medical world and empower patients to seek help from their own doctors. By understanding clinical decision-making and the complexities of the health care system from an online physician’s perspective, patients may be more likely to trust their own physician’s medical opinion. This may lead to an improved patient-physician relationship. Young adults can also be accessed through this format, but medical advice should remain professional and strive to reach only the intended audience.
