Abstract

This audio essay connects the work of Susan Joan Wood and William Gibson with Vancouver's history of trauma-images. The essay uses a soundscape hypermediated through feedback processing to symbolize the recursive process of abstraction by which the production of cyberspace embedded material histories.

Author Biography

Matthew Horrigan, Simon Fraser University

Matthew Horrigan is a media scholar whose teaching and research consider the intersections of production processes and digital representations. A musical multi-instrumentalist, Matt trained in electroacoustic sound at McGill University and sound art at Simon Fraser.
