Focus and Scope
This journal represents an attempt to explore issues, ideas, and problems that lie at the intersection between the academic disciplines of social science and the body of thought and political practice that has constituted Marxism over the last 150 years.
New Proposals is a journal of Marxism and Interdisciplinary Inquiry that is dedicated to the radical transformation of the contemporary world order. We see our role as providing a platform for research, commentary, and debate of the highest scholarly quality that contributes to the struggle to create a more just and humane world, in which the systematic and continuous exploitation, oppression, and fratricidal struggles that characterize the contemporary sociopolitical order no longer exist.

Peer Review Process
Submitted articles will generally be reviewed by two readers with the aim of reaching a first decision within eight (8) weeks. A third reviewer, generally one of the journal's advisers, will be used where necessary. Our goal is to encourage scholarship that may not find a venue in mainstream academic journals while maintaining the highest standards of peer review. Reviewers for New Proposals will focus upon finding ways to ensure the publication of effective and important radical scholarship.
Publication Frequency
Journal issues are published twice a year. Occasionally additional special theme issues are also published.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides open access to all of its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Such access is associated with increased readership and increased citation of an author's work. For more information on this approach, see the Public Knowledge Project, which has designed this system to improve the scholarly and public quality of research, and which freely distributes the journal system as well as other software to support the open access publishing of scholarly resources.
